Frequently Asked Questions

1. What areas do you service as a wedding celebrant?

I’m based on the Sunshine Coast and regularly officiate weddings across the Hinterland and surrounding regions including Noosa, Maleny, Montville, Flaxton, Yandina, Palmwoods, Sunshine Beach, Coolum, Caloundra and beyond. I’m also happy to travel interstate or overseas. Just get in touch and I’ll send a custom quote for travel or accommodation if needed.

2. How far in advance should we book a celebrant?

The earlier, the better, especially for peak seasons (Spring and Autumn). Most couples book 12–18 months in advance. Legally, we need to lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least 31 days before the wedding.

3. What’s included in your wedding celebrant package?

My ceremony package includes personalised planning meetings (in person or online), a detailed Q&A to get to know your story, vow-writing support, all legal paperwork, a professional PA system, and a printed keepsake copy of your vows. I also register your marriage after the ceremony.

4. Do you offer both Celebrant and MC services?

Yes. You can book me as your celebrant, your MC, or both. A combined package creates a seamless experience from ceremony to reception with consistent energy, warmth and humour.

5. Can you help us write or review our wedding vows?

Absolutely. I’ll send you a vow-writing kit with prompts and inspiration, then print your final vows on high-quality cards so you don’t have to read from your Notes app on the day.

6. What’s your process after we enquire?

We’ll schedule a no-pressure catch-up (online or over coffee) to chat. If it’s a good fit, I’ll send through a custom quote to officially kick things off.

Yes. From lodging the NOIM to registering your marriage with Births, Deaths & Marriages, I take care of the full legal process.

8. How long does a wedding ceremony go for?

Most ceremonies run for 20–30 minutes depending on what you want to include. I’ll guide you through all the options to get the perfect length and feel.

9. Can we personalise the ceremony script?

Always. Every ceremony I deliver is written from scratch. No templates, no awkward lines, no recycled stories, no AI-written scripts!

10. Can we include cultural, spiritual or family traditions?

Definitely. Your ceremony should reflect who you are, where you’ve come from, and what matters most to you.

11. Do you perform elopements and micro-weddings?

Yes. I offer packages for weekday elopements, registry-style weddings and small celebrations. Just because it’s small doesn’t mean it can’t be meaningful.

12. Do you perform non-traditional or funny weddings?

That’s my jam. If you want something relaxed, humorous or completely off-script — I’m in. Let’s make it feel like you.

13. Are you an LGBTQIA+ inclusive celebrant?

Absolutely. Love is love and I’m here to help you celebrate it, however that looks.

14. Do you provide a microphone and speaker system?

Yes, I bring a professional PA system with wireless mic and Bluetooth for your ceremony music. Fully tested and ready to go.

15. Can you help with wedding speeches if you’re the MC?

I’m always happy to help your speakers with writing tips or pre-mic nerves. I want everyone to feel confident and relaxed.

16. What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?

Just let me know as early as possible. I’ll always aim to be flexible and fair, and we’ll work together on the best solution.

17. What makes you different from other wedding celebrants?

I’m equal parts heartfelt and fun, modern, personal, and a little unexpected. No cringe or fluff, just a ceremony that genuinely reflects you as a couple.

18. Can we meet you before booking?

Of course. That first meeting is all about making sure we click. You want the person marrying you to feel like they’re the right fit.

19. What’s the best way to check your availability?

You can reach out via my website contact form, email me at hello@danfordcelebrant.com.au, or call/text me on 0402 289 961.

20. Will you step out of the way for the first kiss?

You bet. I’ve mastered the celebrant side-step so your first kiss photo is all yours and not awkwardly photobombed by me!
